Beautiful boy – Dark Fantasy, Part 3; by Grace R. Duncan:
He stepped up against my back. “I love you. While you will be gagged, you will still have the ball. If you wish to stop at any time, drop it and I will.”
“We do this as much for you as me. In the end, you are what matters to me. I am showing you off, my most prized possession, the thing that matters most to me. Though there will be many, those who will be here tonight are closest to us, to me, and I allow them here only because I am willing to allow them to touch the most important thing in my life.”
The Taming;by M. C. Rayne:
“Now tell me this again. Someone is doing what now?” Kelly asks.
She tries to get me to get out of the rain, to follow her to Halo, but I refuse to go with her. After getting a text by someone obviously watching me, then to have Kelly turn up and put her mobile away, well that just makes me think it is her.
After a heated discussion, she manages to convince me she has no idea what I am talking about, and to follow her to her bar so we can get out of the rain and discuss this properly. My body is already like an ice cube so I follow her, but I mainly go because I want to discuss this further, to really see if she is telling the truth.
I walk into the empty bar, and without asking for permission or offering to pay, I pour myself a whiskey. I quickly swallow the burning liquid and gasp afterwards as Kelly walks towards me, taking off her coat.
“Someone is sending me texts, telling me to leave Tom,” I say, removing my coat before hugging my body to get warm.
Love Bite; Rachel Ravenheart:
I woke disoriented as I took in my surroundings. I appeared to be in a dirty building that had seen better days. As I looked around, I saw several women walking amongst the many hospital beds that were strewn haphazardly around the large room. I guessed I was in a hospital and tried to think about what had happened.
During the Crimean War I recalled being injured but my group had been separated from the rest of our forces and unable to get medical attention right away. By the time we were able to reconnect with them I was feverish and woozy. The medic had said I had an infection and wasn’t going to make it. Because of the fever I was fighting from the infection my memory seemed to be in pieces. The last thing I remembered was my superior officer, Colonel Spencer Montagu, biting me. He said something before he sunk his elongated teeth into my wrist. I simply don’t remember what he said or even if it had all been a dream.
Spring Cleaning (And Sneezing): Part II; by Tray Ellis:
“What’s all this?” Oscar stopped just past the threshold of their bedroom. The entire room appeared to have been upended. Drawers stuck out haphazardly, clothes mounded in piles, and heaps of books leaned against the baseboard. The windows were open and warm sunlight as well as a brisk breeze filled the room.
“Organizing!” Phillip said. He kneeled in one corner of the room, stretching an arm under the bed and hauling out miscellaneous items. Forgotten magazines were pulled forth and a multitude of dust bunnies tumbled with them. Despite the coolness of the air, Phillip was dressed only in a t-shirt and shorts.
Burchester Tales: Part 12 – Post-party analysis; by H. Lewis-Foster:
“And how was the party?” Ross plunged his finger into a jar of peanut butter, then happily sucked the contents from his sticky digit.
Lee shook his head, still mildly appalled by his flatmate’s non-existent table manners. “I hope that peanut butter’s yours.”
“Of course.” Ross grinned and took another fingerful. “At least it is now, anyway.”
“I wish you’d keep your hands off other people’s food.” Lee had already umpired one heated argument over a packet of sweet and sour noodles. “But as it happens, the party was fabulous.”
Magic Unleashed – Chapter 3 – Rules of the Game;by Alina Popescu:
I woke up with a start, my instincts telling me to jump out of bed and just run. I was about to do just that when a strong had moved from my thigh to my waist and locked me in place, accompanied by a sleepy growl. “Not yet, Kitty Cat,” Eikki mumbled and proceeded to flatten me on my belly. He then snuggled into me, half on top, his head resting on my shoulder blade. I could feel the rise and fall of his chest as he drifted back to sleep, his silky skin caressing mine and making me shiver.
Birth Day #4; by Tucker McCallahan:
I swam up into consciousness like I’d been anesthetized.
Blinking, I tried to gaze around and a wave of intense vertigo rolled up over me. My knees went weak and I would’ve hit the dirt had a strong arm not slipped around my waist.
“Easy. You are disoriented, Dr. Wickliffe.”
The question shot out of my mouth more sharply than I intended, but my vision hadn’t completely cleared.
“Why am I disoriented?” Oh this was awful. My head spun and my guts heaved. All I knew was that –
“You have not been given any type of intoxicating substance, I assure you.”
The Time Traveler’s Husband – Part 7; by Lily G. Blunt:
Edward: “Marry me,” I ask for what seems like the hundredth time.
“Change me,” he counters as he usually does.
“You know you will,” I offer.
“I only have your word for that,” Jasper says teasing, rolling his body off mine. I pull him back and kiss him before I finally release him.
I’ve had countless discussions with Carlisle over the decades. We’ve both pored over the internet trying to discover any evidence or medical research into Jasper’s condition. If only we could find out the reason why he time travels, then perhaps we would have some notion of how to stop it.
